The candidates must have a strong academic record and meet the following additional requirements:

  • Have a degree in Physics, Physics Engineering or in other Engineering and Science fields with strong affinity to Physics Engineering.
  • Have a final Master degree grade of at least 14/20 (for 5 years long Integrated Master’s Program, it is considered only the grade of the final two years) and at least 16/20 in the Master Thesis;
  • Exceptionally, students with grades below the threshold but with a solid scientific/technological/professional CV may be accepted. This is evaluated by the Directive Board of the PhD Program.
  • Be able to speak and write in English, as this is the Program official language.
  • Applicants must have the Master degree at the application date.

Admission of candidates is competitive and based on the educational background, academic qualification, research experience and motivation.

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees are those of the University where the student will enroll in the Physics or Physics Engineering PhD Program associated to DAEPHYS. Students with a DAEPHYS or FCT fellowship have their tuition fees covered.
